Angels exist for one purpose—to cleanse the miasma formed by human misery. That was until the angel Ardent began questioning why they must suppress the evidence of suffering. After all, is it not a core part of the human experience?
The rebellion forced Gabriel to act; they challenged Ardent to a duel that caused their mutual fall from Heaven. Now, Gabriel searches for Ardent to finish the job, while Ardent finds a place amongst the miasma.
